Three days after toddler Twinkle Sharma went missing in Aligarh her mutilated and burnt body was found in a dumping ground in Tappal, Aligarh district, Uttar Pradesh, on June 2. Twinkle, aged between 2.5 to 3 years, was brutally murdered by accused Mohammed Zahid, according to reports. The motive behind the murder was a meagre sum of Rs 10,000 that Twinkle's parents owed Zahid.
The sweeper lady who discovered the dead body of two and a half year old Twinkle Sharma says that she is now receiving threats from local Muslims who are accusing her of taking bribes for disposing the body.
The two were arrested after the Aligarh police recovered baby Twinkle’s body from a dumping ground nearby on June 2, three days after Twinkle went missing from her house.
Zahid had brutally choked Twinkle with a dupatta (scarf) and hid the body in his house in a straw bag. After three days when the corpse started emitting a foul smell, Zahid threw Twinkle in a pile of trash. Twinkle’s body was completely decomposed with her eyes gouged out.
Aslam, the co-accused has a rather disgusting history. He is said to have previously raped his own daughter too.

“A case of kidnapping was registered on May 31. The accused have been arrested and they have confessed to the crime. It was a case of personal enmity and there is no sign of rape. The minor was strangled to death and her eyes were gouged out. The accused are in jail now,” said Senior Superintendent of Police Aligarh, Akash Kulhari.
Meanwhile, Twinkle’s family confirmed that they owed Zahid a sum of Rs 10,000, for which the two got into an argument the night before Twinkle disappeared from the village. Zahid had apparently warned Twinkle’s family of dire consequences.
