Narendra Modi movie review

Full review of narendra modi film

What’s PM Narendra Modi About:
Despite the title, the filmmakers clarify that the film is about our nation and the rise of an ambitious and patriotic politician who has been our PM since the past five years. Narendra Damodardas Modi (Vivek Oberoi) is a good man, loves his mamma, loves his work and India too.
He is hardworking, altruistic, patriotic, introspective, fearless, sensitive, morally sound, loved by all, and wants to dedicate his entire life to serving people. Oh yes, and he also wants to be a soldier and is as brave as one. The film shows his dynamics with his parents, various political leaders of different times, his allies, and other movers and shakers. The film tracks NaMo’s journey from being a nobody to his time at RSS where he was a part of a revolution and his rise in India’s current ruling party – BJP – to a rather unexpected nomination for the post of India’s Prime Minister.

What Works:
PM Narendra Modi is an overwhelming tribute from his admirers – Omung Kumar, Sandip Ssingh, and Vivek Oberoi and it shows. Oberoi does his best to portray NaMo and does a decent job at it throughout. The film touches upon topics like the 2002 Godhra riots and a life-threatening danger for Modi, thus keeping the film moving at a good pace. The supporting cast members like Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi and Kishori Shahane definitely add value to the film.

What Could’ve Been Better:
The one-sided rhetoric of the film will not have a universal appeal. A little more depth to the on-screen characters would’ve definitely helped the audience connect with them better.

Why You Should Watch:
The fans of PM Narendra Modi need no excuse to watch this film. Especially after the landslide victory, it’s safe to assume that the admirers and supporters are sure to flock the theatres.
